Del Mar to Host Inaugural American Youth Racing Experience
DEL MAR, CA – Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is the host for the inaugural American Youth Racing Experience, summer of 2020, at their historic seaside race track. Spend four days, learning about Thoroughbred horse racing up close and personal.
Mornings will be spent working in a trainer’s barn learning all that goes into the care and training of the equine athlete.
The rest of the day will be spent learning the different aspects of the racing industry –marketing, customer service, security, rules and regulations, the racing office and track
management.
During afternoon racing, participants will observe horse identification, paddock and starting gate procedures as well as access “behind the scenes” to see what the stewards do after the race in placing the horses in the correct order of finish and review race replay videos for possible riding infractions or interference.
