Hirsch Speaker Series Welcomes Sal DiMario
On Wednesday February 3, students in the Race Track Industry Program met over Zoom with Sal DiMario, Secretary for Harness Horsemen’s International and Executive Director of the Delaware Standardbred Owners Association, as part of the Hirsch Speaker Series.
Sal gave a comprehensive overview of the DSOA including its scope of authority, operational functions and government relations.
He also addressed major issues facing DSOA/HHI and Harness racing today and into the future, including the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act 2020, before he opened the meeting to questions and discussion.
“Sal articulated the need for horsemen organizations and specifically discussed all the efforts the Delaware Standardbred Owners Association puts forth on behalf of its members. He further stated the horsemen organizations need to develop the next generation of leaders, said Phil O’Hara.”
